Dreams for My City Workshop

Dreams for your City? We invite you to dream with us and plan for the future.

On Saturday, December 14, the Anchorage Museum, as part of its
SEED Lab program, will be hosting a Dreams for My City workshop, bringing
together youth leaders from throughout Anchorage to collaboratively and
creatively envision the city’s future, with a special focus on climate change
and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The event will include various community perspectives, youth
leaders and organizations dedicated to youth and the Northern environment. We
will work together and through a variety of breakout sessions throughout the

Participants can expect to spend the morning examining the UN
Sustainable Development Goals and how they apply to our Northern place and
sustainability in Anchorage.

Building on these discussions, the afternoon will provide an
opportunity for participants to creatively envision Anchorage’s future. Using
recycled and upcycled materials, participants will have the chance to create a
map of Anchorage that expresses their dreams for the city’s future.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Below is a general program of what to expect throughout the day:

10-10:30: Welcome, land acknowledgement, and getting to know one

10:30 -12: UN Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Change, and
Anchorage, Alaska.

12:45 – 3: Dreams for My City: Creatively envisioning the future.

3 – 4: Individuals making a difference together; Collaboration for
the future

The workshop will take place at the Museum’s SEED Lab House,
across the street from the Museum at 109 W. 6th.
