SUMMARY:Love Remembers Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:LOVE REMEMBERS…. \nThose lost to addiction\, substance misuse\, trafficking and suicide due to drug overdoses and poisonings by speaking their names\, although gone\, never forgotten! \nThere will be candlelight vigil\, January 10th\, at MyHouse (300 N. Willow St. Wasilla\, AK ) starting at 6:00 pm with speakers\, a benediction\, along a candle lighting and the reading of names until 7:00 pm. \nThe MyHouse Gathering Grounds Cafe’ will be open during the event for warmth\, coffee and fellowship. \nIf you want a new name read or you are willing to read a list of names (along with the 300 names that were read at the August 31st International Overdose/Poisoning Event) please send your loved one’s name to John Green. (KellsiesKey@yahoo.com ) \nKellsie Green died on January 10th\, 2016 from heroin withdrawal in the Anchorage jail. Kellsie was just 24 years old. She lost 20 pounds in 4 days and was already under weight due to her addiction issues. Her body completely shut down. \nKellsie is the reason for the launching of the Mat-Su Opioid Task Force six years ago. We are grateful for John Green’s dedication to the good fight with ending the opioid epidemic\, especially seeking detox with dignity\, treatment and prevention. \nAlso\, we want to thank all those that have lost loved one’s\, that have joined the good fight\, \n(Karen\, Sandy Dar\, Sasha\, & Julie\,) and those that have partnered with us\, along with True North Recovery\, MyHouse and many others (AK HSS\, OSMAP & DBH) everyday across Alaska. \nFinally\, we are asking every community\, city\, town and village across Alaska to participate that evening in their own way to acknowledge those lost to addiction and invite partners\, supporters and the recovery community to join. \nWe know speaking their names is vital to remember\, that recovery is possible and recovery stories are important to share and hear.
