Across Alaska and the nation, people are talking about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study. This ACEs study outlined the greatest public health discovery in decades: that traumatic childhood events, such as experiencing abuse or neglect or witnessing domestic violence in the home, can create dangerous levels of stress that may result in long-term effects on behavior and health.
