AAVP presents: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health

July 31, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The Anchorage Alliance for Violence Prevention (AAVP) is hosting the community event on Saturday, July 31st at 1 PM! The event is open to ALL community members and will take place in person at the Mountain View Library in Anchorage, Alaska. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided.

This event will feature guest speaker Tenecia Lockard, a Mental Health Clinician II at McLaughlin Youth Center where she works as the substance abuse clinician. Her perspectives and knowledge as a woman of color and expert in the field of mental health are incredibly valuable in this discussion. We hope that AAVP and community members are open to learn about and discuss important topics that impact BIPOC mental health such as colonization, racism, poverty, oppression, and homophobia. Our guest speaker will guide us in this important discussion in a safe, inclusive space.
