Kenai/Soldotna Pride Parade Shines With Rainbow-Colored Love

Love turned the color of every shade of the rainbow for the 2019 Kenai/Soldotna Pride Parade on Saturday.

Nearly 200 people showed up to the Soldotna Sports Complex to walk the stretch of sidewalk to Soldotna Creek Park for the second annual Two Spirit Pride March and Celebration.

This year’s parade was in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, when patrons at the Stonewall Inn gay bar in New York City, tired of being harassed, fought back against police trying to arrest them. The event sparked the beginning of the modern gay civil rights movement and inspired activism all across the country.
