Turning the tide of alcoholism: local man’s death underscores difficulty of substance misuse battle

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner published an editorial on the struggles of alcoholism and the downward spiral it took in the life of a man who recently died in Alaska Dept. of Corrections custody. 
“What his case does make crystal clear, however, is the tremendous cost alcohol misuse visits on Alaska and its people. Our state needs better solutions, not just from the top down but from the interpersonal level upward.”
