Emmonak alcohol election needs redo because of vote-counting irregularity

The results of a special election to open a city-run liquor store in the Southwestern village of Emmonak were thrown out by the city council. The proposed change in the local option law was initially in favor of the city-run liquor store, but only by 11 votes. Voters will vote again on Oct. 4, the date of the next regular election.
