Building Inclusive Coalitions

May 7 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Let’s come together to create diverse and united teams at “Building Inclusive Coalitions” event!

Working with diverse partners in your community. This training, by popular demand has been developed and will be offered by our own prevention partner Jessica Limbird. It will be about 6 hours of both interactive and processing sessions. For those who know Jess, we will not be sitting and listening but doing and sharing.

As part of this year’s DBH grantee conference, former Alliance coordinator Jess Limbird (she/they) will be facilitating a training, “Building Inclusive Coalitions.” This training will take place Tuesday, May 7, 9-4 at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.

Inclusion is a critical component of individual and community well-being. Inclusion extends beyond tolerance and helps increase protective factors, meaningful connection, and a sense of belonging for all. Understanding and providing pathways for inclusion will strengthen community and our prevention efforts. During “Building Inclusive Coalitions,” participants will:

  • Explore topics like unconscious bias, power dynamics, and the role prevention coalitions play in dismantling structural racism
  • Engage with an embodied awareness of concepts like culture, inclusion, and belonging
  • Learn from one another about how to build inclusive relationships and coalitions

If you plan to attend, please register at this link. If you have questions about the training, please contact Jess directly- [email protected].
